The
Birmingham based charity Edwards Trust has commissioned
Hannah Genders to produce a very special garden
for them at the new National Memorial Arboretum
in Staffordshire.
Edwards Trust provides a counselling and support
service for children and adults struggling to cope
with childhood illness and loss.
The garden will be part of the 150 acre site in
Staffordshire dedicated to remembrance and needs
to be a fitting memorial to the charities work.
Description
As a sign of hope and ongoing life a central tree
will ‘grow’ trees as leaves are added.
The leaves, made of copper will contain the names
of children who have died and sitting around the
central area will be peaceful and full of scent
Small woodlands will surround the garden with drifts
of naturalised bulbs and flowers.
